What is a Co-Op?
The Sturbridge Nursery School is a cooperative experience where parent/guardian involvement is crucial to the success of the school, as greater caregiver involvement allows parents/guardians to share in and add to their child's preschool experience and allows the children to see that their education is an important part of family life. Parents work with professional educators to teach, supervise, organize activities and also take on other responsibilities. These responsibilities include:
Helping in the classroom on a rotating basis
Attending monthly parent meetings
Working on parent job days, such as organizing fundraising efforts, raking leaves or building maintenance
Volunteering at school events and joining the parent board
